Tim Tebow Hit A Home Run In His First Minor League At-Bat Against Pitcher Picked No. 666 In The Draft

Here’s more proof that Tim Tebow is the second coming of Jesus Christ.

[April 6], Tebow hit his first home run while making his first appearance at bat for the Columbia Fireflies against pitcher Domenic Mazza.

Coincidentally Mazza was the 666th pick in the 2015 MLB draft.

A Good Question & With A Good Answer

Why Do Oval Tracks Have Painted-On Lane Lines?

For Texas Motor Speedway, the decision to mark off lanes was part driver aid, and part aesthetic.

“It gives some drivers reference points on the asphalt in the turns,” Texas Motor Speedway VP of Media Relations Mike Zizzo told Jalopnik.

The track also hosts a number of driving schools, and these lines help drivers figure out where they are on the wider sections of the track, and know when to enter and exit the turns.

You may hear announcers refer to different “grooves” on the track that racers run in—top, or bottom, for example. These lane lines help racers figure out which groove they’re in. Otherwise, the really wide sections kind of look like one big mass of asphalt.

Lest we forget that cars running flat-out on an oval course are fast, the lines also help emphasize the cars’ speed.

“It is an aid for TV coverage in the fact that it better exemplifies the speed of the cars when they speed past the white stripes as opposed to plain black or gray asphalt,” Zizzo noted.

A Garage Queen With A Very Unique History

New Mercedes SL500 unused for 20 years after owner loses keys

The car has 80 miles on the odometer.

When you lose your car keys, the dealer can usually procure you a new set based on the vehicle's VIN. It's sometimes expensive, but it's not as wasteful as letting your car sit for 20 years because you've lost your keys.

The latter is what a British Mercedes-Benz SL owner appears to have done. The lady owner of the bright red Benz had received the car as a birthday present some time earlier, and unfortunately she says she misplaced her keys immediately after. As a result, the SL500 sat in a garage in Knightsbridge, central London, until very recently, with only 75 miles on its digital odometer. Due to laying dormant for decades, the R129 bodystyle SL needed "a light re-commission," which most likely meant replacing all consumable items such as gaskets and fluids, and cleaning off 20 years of dust. The owner has included a letter verifying the car's mileage.

The car is being offered at a Coys Spring Classics auction on Wednesday, with a few miles added to bring the odometer reading up to 80. Depending of what kind of money commands, we'll see whether it was smart to let it sit instead of driving it.
