Bugatti offers 15-year warranty as part of its Veyron Loyalty Maintenance Program

There’s great news for Bugatti Veyron owners as the automaker recently introduced the Loyalty Maintenance Program to help customers maintain the condition of their cars and to allow them to keep their vehicles in mint condition.

The Loyalty Maintenance Program is actually part of the company’s Extended Warranty and Extended Warranty Plus programs, which can last for as long as 15 years. Owning a Bugatti Veyron can be very expensive; the maintenance costs alone are already high. The brand hopes that this program will help reduce operating costs for owners.

Franco Utzeri, head of Bugatti Certified and Financial Services, says that the Bugatti Customer Service is definitely more than just a seal of approval, making a difference for Veyron owners. It includes warranty, individual support, and a combination of a confirmed vehicle history. The automaker’s goal is also to give their customers a unique experience and 360 degree ownership that no other automaker currently offers.

For customers who would like to earn a Bugatti Certified seal, their Veyron must first pass an inspection process. Here, everything will be tested and if necessary, some parts will be replaced - and this includes mechanical bits as well as body parts. Your vehicle will also go through an update. In the end of it all, a Bugatti Certified seal will be given to the car owner, while also extending the car’s warranty.

A number of different maintenance packages will be offered to Veyron owners, who will then choose depending on which one fits their lifestyle the most. With this much variety, it goes to show that Bugatti really considers its spectrum of customers, as they can provide to a very diverse group of individuals.

Personal feelings about the worth of material objects serving no purpose other than to look at aside, this 1:4 scale of a Bugatti Chiron engine and gearbox is pretty mesmerizing. The company that makes it and other expensive vehicle replicas, Amalgam Collection, said there are 1,040 individual parts and all of the special finishes Bugatti puts on the actual car’s 1,500-horsepower W16 engine packed into a model that’s only 18 inches long and 9 inches high.

The VW-owned brands, along with the Bugatti supercar marque, are looking to share costs across a wide spectrum of activities and will achieve annual savings of 100 million euros ($106 million) starting next year, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume said.

There are 14 cross-disciplinary teams exploring where costs can be shared, said Blume, who heads VW's new Sport/Luxury group, which coordinates the three brands' activities in order to boost savings.

"It is a wide-ranging plan that is highly detailed and thought out," Blume said. Synergies could be found in development work, components, cooperating on financial services, joint sales structures, as well as production and quality assurance, the Porsche chief told reporters at the sports-car maker's annual press conference here last month.

It's as rigid as an LMP1 racing car

• The monocoque of the Chiron is a special bit of kit. It’s made entirely from carbonfibre and on its own takes four weeks to make. It’s 8kg lighter than the Veyron’s monocoque, and is exceptionally rigid. Bugatti says that the Chiron “reaches a torsional rigidity of 50,000 Nm per degree and a flexural rigidity of about 0.25 mm per tonne” - and if you’ve no idea what that means, all you need to know is that it’s apparently comparable to an LMP1 endurance racer in rigidity terms.

It went through hella testing

• During development, Chiron test cars have spent a combined 300 hours in the wind tunnel, clocked over 300,000 miles and munched through 200 sets of tyres. Bugatti says that it had to develop a new test bench for the 8.0-litre engine, as existing test equipment wasn’t able to apply big enough loads for the W16.

If you want to get an oil change and some standard service, which is typically the cheapest work you can get a garage to do, you’re looking at about $21,000 dollars. The Bugatti Veyron uses very specific tires, and at top-speed, those tires only last about 15 minutes before needing to be replaced. Want a new set? Get ready to pay $42,000 dollars for new tires. Oh and the wheels also need to be replaced entirely after every other tire change. They will run you about $69,000 for a set. Bugatti also encourages that you replace the tires and wheels a few times throughout the year. So if you get an oil change, replace the tires, and then replace the wheels/tires for a Veyron in one year, you’re looking at $132,000 in just parts (excluding labor). Hopefully your transmission will never break on your Veyron, because it costs around $120,000 alone to replace. The Veyron also only gets about 15mpg on the highway, so you will be frequently visiting gas stations and obviously you have to use the most premium form of gasoline to fill it up. Based on data from FuelEconomy.gov, the average Veyron costs $83 dollars to fill up and the estimated annual fuel cost is around $4,700 dollars. Comparatively, a standard 2014 Honda Accord has an estimated annual fuel cost of just $1,450.
