As I Expected, It Failed To Live Up The Hype

Does the 2017 Acura NSX Live up to Its Legendary Predecessor?

We drove the 2017 Acura NSX. Can it compare to its father?

Honda says it didn't build the car to performance targets.

There's also the weight issue. Despite a chassis intense with lightweight materials like aluminum and carbon fiber, this car tips the scales at just over 3,800 pounds – some 700 more than the fattest first generation machine. And, like the original NSX and the Ferrari 458 Italia, the new car only puts 42 percent of its heft on the front tires. The engine may be in the middle, but the weight isn't.

Honda wants the NSX to be an everyday supercar, but by definition, a supercar isn't an everyday affair. It's a special thing reserved for special days, and if you buy one, you never want to quietly tip toe out of a valet stand under electric power. You want to rattle the crystal on the hotel roof. You want to throw open the garage doors on a gorgeous day and bend the asphalt to your will. If there's compromise, you want it in the pursuit of performance, not livability. There was a time when you felt a little NSX in your Accord. Now there's too much Accord in your NSX.

I Liked It Until I Read PDK

Would You Pay $165,000 For A Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport?

Citing insider info, Automobile Magazine reports the upcoming track-only Cayman GT4—which packs a 3.8-liter flat-six engine, a PDK gearbox, suspension bits from the 911 GT3 Cup, racing brakes, a safety cage and a six-point harness all from the factory—will start in the mid-$160,000 range.
Other factory options are reportedly limited to air jacks ($4,200), Recaro bucket seats ($3,900), and a package of spare parts that will cost between $9,000 and $10,000. The spares kit includes a replacement front and rear bumper, as well as new brakes and wheels. That could put the car’s true sticker price at $182,100-$183,100.
Then again, this isn’t a street legal supercar—it’s a track-only variant. It’s a race car. It’s designed to do battle in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, the Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy, the Pirelli World Challenge and more.

Did You Know - Ghostbusters Edition

15 Facts You Didn't Know About the Original 'Ghostbusters,' From Bill Murray's Secret Role to the Reptile That Almost Terrorized New York

6. Mr. Stay Puft was a cross between the Michelin Man and Pillsbury Doughboy, according to Aykroyd. Like the old Godzilla movies, the “real” Stay Puft was a guy in a (fireproof) suit wreaking havoc on a scale-model Manhattan populated by toy cars. Filmmakers executed the stream-crossing incineration sequence as a practical effect in one take.

For the big explosion at the end, gallons of shaving cream were dumped over the actors and set elements to simulate the marshmallow remains.

7. Aside from Mr. Stay Puft, the movie’s most memorable ghost was Slimer, the greenish glutton plaguing the fictional Sedgewick Hotel. The ghost was only known on set as “Onionhead,” because of the stench that was its main characteristic in early drafts of the script and was never named in the film

However, once Murray’s Venkman announces, “He slimed me,” the ghoul was henceforth known as Slimer by fans, and the name stuck in Ghostbusters spinoffs and merchandise.

Complain All You Want But You Continue To Shop There

7 reasons some shoppers hate Costco

Only one credit card option

When you shop at most prominent retailers, you can pay with any number of credit cards. But at Costco, your only choice has been American Express. Now, that option is going away, though Costco recently announced it will start taking Visa (V) in place of Amex (AXP) in 2016. But why only one choice in any case? Bob Nelson, a Costco vice president, says in the case of Amex, it was simply part of the agreement’s terms: “It was an exclusive contract.”

No shopping bags

The most you’ll get at Costco is a recycled cardboard box. (And issues can sometimes apparently arise with cashiers running out of those, too.) Nelson says it’s all about cost: If Costco provided shopping bags, it would have to charge more for the items it sells. He also says he has not heard any issues about availability of cardboard boxes.
