Yenko Stage II Camaro makes 1000 horsepower
Because three-digit horsepower is for losers.
Now available to be ordered at a Chevrolet dealer, the Yenko/SC Supercharged Stage II Camaro boasts a 6.8-liter LT1 teased all the way up to 1000 horsepower and 875 lb-ft of torque. Developed by Specialty Vehicle Engineering, the aluminum block engine has a forged 4340 steel crankshaft and H-beam rods, forged aluminum pistons and ported LT4 heads, plus a supercharger and a stainless steel header and exhaust setup.
The Yenko Stage II Camaro makes easy work of beating a standard 6.2-liter Camaro SS, which "only" has 455 hp and 455 lb-ft from factory. There's also Magnetic Ride Control, an electronic LSD, Brembo brakes and a suspension upgraded to withstand all that power. All in all, it's an impressive package that should actually be well done given that the engine, supercharger and non-powertrain components are all backed by a three-year/36,000 mile warranty. If you want one, it's best to act fast as only 25 will be made. Then again, pricing has yet to be announced.

A V6 Chevy Camaro 1LE Takes The Battle To The Epic BMW M2
The BMW needs no introduction, but the Camaro shouldn’t either. The problem is that the Camaro has a 3.6-liter V6 and not the gurgling 6.2-liter V8 from the SS, meaning it makes 335 horsepower, 30 ponies shy of the BMW’s 365 horsepower output. Still, the 1LE package has earned its fame.
Before it became an option on the ZL1 Camaro, it was responsible for turning Chevy’s least powerful muscle car into a true track performer. Underpinned by GM’s highly regarded Alpha platform, this Camaro is ready to munch up corners and spit out lap times like it was nobody’s business. While Jonny Lieberman and Jason Cammisa both mention how much bigger the loud Camaro is over the M2, the real differentiating factor between the two ends up being the engine. Not necessarily that the BMW’s engine is so much better, just that the Camaro’s 3.6-liter V6 is as unimpressive as they come. Next time it's best to bring the engine Chevy engineers actually spent their time on, the V8.

Camaro chief: If your car breaks on track, GM will fix it
Much as it does with the Corvette, Chevrolet has confirmed that it will honor the warranties on V8 Camaros even if the issue in question was caused by a track day or night at the drag strip. Motor Authority was told about the policy by Camaro Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser, and Autoblog got an official confirmation from GM. There are, of course, caveats, plus some open questions about the policy.
"If you're not modifying your car and you take your production car to a track day and you have an issue with one of your parts, it's covered under warranty," Oppenheiser told Motor Authority. "That's pride of craftsmanship that we know it will stand up to track use."
As Oppenheiser says, don't expect to make sweeping modifications to your car and have GM still foot the bill for any issues that befall your car on the track.
"We know when somebody changes their ECM calibration and we know if they changed to a cold-air intake, we can tell all that," Oppenheiser said. "But driving it as you break it in from the dealership, if you have a half-shaft or whatever, it's covered."

1984 Chevrolet Camaro Z28: $500
Since most people know me as a Mustang guy, I’ll reveal a secret muscle car desire of mine. I’ve always liked the long, low lines of the third-generation Camaro, and this particular Z28 with T-Tops is a perfect platform to build a sweet, properly fast American muscle machine. It’s located in Reno, Nevada and it’s a roller, so you won’t be driving it home. But muscle car builds start with the engine anyway, so no big deal.
The body looks solid, and Camaros of this generation enjoy a huge aftermarket, so whether you stick with an old-school carbed V8 or do the infamous LS-swap, there will be plenty of support to get the project done. With $10,000 and a bit of elbow grease you could have a 1980s mullet machine with the chops to run with the latest American muscle.

This Hyper Blue Metallic Camaro should offer neck-snapping performance with its massively powerful engine and a T-56 Super Magnum six-speed manual gearbox. Chevy's show car is about more than just packing copious horsepower into a classic shape, though. The builders also overhaul the suspension with coilovers at the front and rear, in addition to a four-link setup at the back. Behind the 19-inch aluminum wheels, the coupe has Z06-based brakes at both ends. For better visibility, it wears LED headlights and taillights. Plus, the interior gets custom gauges and a six-point roll cage.

18 Year Old Girl Beats The Boys By Making Her First 8 Second Quarter Mile Run In A 69 Camaro
Meet Alex Taylor, an 18-year-old girl who has been pursuing her high-octane dream and can now take pride in having pulled an 8-second quarter mile pass at the Rocky Mountain Race Week.
Alex is obviously the youngest competitor at the event and her weapon is a 1969 Camaro. Sure, the classic muscle car required a set of extremely serious mods to reach such a level of performance and we have to explain the main trick here is a pair of turbos.
