She Will Be Missed On Tour

Se Ri Pak announces her retirement

The LPGA Hall of Famer and inspiration to a generation of South Korean golfers will wrap up her competitive career in 2016

PHOENIX -- Se Ri Pak, the godmother of Korean golf whose twin major victories in 1998 at age 20 inspired a generation of girls to greatness in her homeland, announced her retirement Thursday at the JTBC Founders Cup.

Pak, who will be 39 in September, says she will play a few more events this year before hanging up her competitive clubs for good. She posted a three-under 69 in the first round at the Wildfire Golf Club.

“Basically, 2016 will be my last full-time season,” she said after her round Thursday. “I know I love to play golf but it is also my dream to help others.” She said she is “going back to my country” to help young girls pursue their dreams.

Pak walks away from the game as the all-time LPGA winner among Koreans with 25 titles, ranking her 23rd in tour history.

How to Loosen Up For a Round in 6 Easy Steps

Step 1: First, get your hands and fingers limber. That might sound crazy, but establishing feel and touch in your hands is critical. Press forward and back on your fingers to stretch out your wrists and knuckles.

Step 2: To get your triceps and biceps loose, rotate your arms in small circles. Start with your thumbs pointing downward, then rotate your arms back until your palms face up. Repeat.

Step 3: Here’s a great warm-up for stretching and strengthening at the same time. Start by holding a club in your left hand with palm facing up. Keep your arm extended straight in front of your body. Rotate your wrist so that your palm and the club face downward. Move your wrist back and forth. Then, switch the club to your right hand and repeat the motion.

Step 4: To improve your posture, stand tall while holding a club above your head with both hands. Slowly stretch from side to side, keeping your arms extended.

Step 5: To activate your core and back muscles, hold a club behind your head, resting across your shoulders with one hand on each end. Twist to the left and to the right, pivoting on your back foot and bringing your heel up.

Step 6: Hold a club across the front of your chest with your arms crossed over it. Again, pivot from side to side, keeping your head up and letting your shoulders lead the movement. Feeling loose? Good, now let 'er rip.

An NHL Pre-Game Ritual?

Whiff 'n poof: NHLers still swear by smelling salts

The ballet starts before each NHL game, once the last anthem notes trail off and the house lights turn on. Watch next time. The choreography is easy to learn.

On the bench, trainers and equipment managers pass out packets no bigger than Tootsie Rolls, tossing others to players out of reach. The players then squeeze the packet, which is sheathed in cotton for protection, and crack the glass vial inside. In case they need help, two arrows on the label point to a dot in the middle. “CRUSH ONCE, USE AND DISCARD,” it says, then below that, “CRUSH HERE.”

Waving the broken capsule under their noses, back and forth to spread the smell, they begin to wiggle and shake, like dogs after a bath. Their noses wrinkle and their nostrils flare. Some hop in place. Others merely wince and squeeze their eyes shut.

The scientific explanation for this strange ritual that has spread across hockey, from juniors up to the NHL, goes like this: The vial is filled with 0.3 milliliters of red liquid—35% alcohol, 15% ammonia and 50% ingredients that are not listed on the label. When the glass breaks, ammonia gas spews into the packaging, creating a pungent smell. The unofficial explanation is simpler: The players are inhaling smelling salts, which, as Sharks defenseman Brenden Dillon puts it, “absolutely reek.”

How To Build A Mountain

The Fitness Routine That The Mountain From ‘Game Of Thrones’ Follows Involves Eating 10,000 Calories A Day

The 6’7” star, who weighs 190kg, eats every two hours, six to eight times a day, to make sure he consumes 10,000 calories daily.
A typical breakfast may include 100 grams of oatmeal, eight eggs, some blueberries and some strawberries.
‘It’s very, very extreme how much food I need to put in to my body,’ he admits.
‘It’s a lot of work. More work than people realise.’
Thor abides by a gruelling daily exercise schedule – three hours in the gym followed by more time stretching, then hot and cold baths to cool his body down so he can train more.
‘It’s a lot of weights, a lot of hard work, a lot of sweat, a lot of tears, a lot of blood and a lot of time,’ he says.(via)

This Is A Smart Company

Nokian Tyres has absolutely no plans to make any track focused tires.

Some people have a misconception on our competitors and us. Our only competition for the winter tire market is Goodyear, Hankook, and Bridgestone. We don’t directly compete with Pirelli, Falken, or any other perfomance tire manufacturer. Still, we are the #1 European tire manufacturer!

It's Because Like GM Before Their Fall, They Offer Too Many Models

The American Luxury Car Market Has Fallen Into The Toilet

Premium brands like BMW have stockpiles of unsold cars.

It looks like the presidential candidate’s attacks on the 1% have had more of an impact then previously imagined because the rich have swallowed their silver spoons and done their best to hide any signs of wealth. One indication of this is the 17% decline of luxury car sales in America for these first three months of 2016. This strange drop in luxury car sales comes in spite of February’s 7% increase in sales numbers for all cars that left this past month as the highest car selling February in 15 years.

So what the hell is causing people to suddenly spend their hard-earned cash on lesser cars while the luxury segment declines? One reason is the fact that crossovers and SUVs, which now cost less to own due to dirt-cheap gas prices, are such a huge success that they have taken a decent chunk out of car sales. While there are now a number of luxury manufacturers that have plush crossovers, the segment is still playing catch-up with the everyday crossover sector, so options aren’t as plentiful. Sales are expected to pick up here on after because typically January and February are the two months of the year with the lowest auto sales.

These Cars Are Worth The Money

5 Classic BMWs Under $10k You Can Buy Right Now

1991 E30 318is
  • Price: $8,500
  • Here's a car for the purists among you. It has a four cylinder instead of the straight six that came in the 325, so it's actually the most balanced E30 you can buy shy of an M3, which would run you about four times as much. More importantly, check out the condition it's in. The word survivor comes to mind -- that's the factory paint, and the interior is just as clean.
1998 E36 M3
  • Price: $9,000
  • Even among BMW's most hardcore enthusiasts, a healthy debate rages as to which was the better car: the E30 M3 or its E36 successor. Debate notwithstanding, you're looking at an original and well-kept example for less than $10,000 -- there's almost no chance that value drops, so at worst you drive the car rent-free for a few years.

Thanks To Gina, We Finally Know

After 20 Years, We FINALLY Know What Tommy’s Job Was On ‘Martin’

It’s been quite the week for our very own David Dennis. Not only did he put Nancy Reagan and “Trap Queen” in the same sentence, but now he’s doing God’s work because he got Tisha Campbell-Martin to tell the world what Tommy’s job was on Martin. Yes, contrary to popular belief, Tommy does indeed have a job.

At about the 26:18 mark she tells the story:

I’ll give you a hint. Mrs., the woman I was going to fight, she was Martin’s teacher, Mrs., not Cunningham… okay, but you know who I’m talking about. Beverly Johnson played her. So, it’s in that episode, that’s the first time you hear about Tommy’s job. The second time you see Tommy’s job is in the Christmas episode when he brings us to speak to children and Martin calls the little boy waterhead.

(Trinidad. Miss. Trinidad.)

So, Tommy talks about, him being in the Boys and Girls Club and he was a counselor at the Boys and Girls Club. That’s what he Tommy for a living.
