Desperate Fans Go To Desperate Measures
Woman gets a Volkswagen GTI in exchange for Szechuan sauce
Rachel Marie was lucky enough to get ahold of a packet of Szechuan sauce. According to The Drive, Marie intended to trade it online for a set of pins. Instead, she was offered a MkIV GTI. It's a good one, too, with a five-speed manual and Volkswagen's 20-valve 1.8-liter turbocharged inline-four. This writer was very close to buying a similar car a decade ago.
It's not clear what state the car is in, but the trade seems to be worth it (unless it needs a new timing belt). Still, congrats to Rachel for cashing out before McDonald's brings the sauce back in full force sometime next month, tanking the Szechuan sauce market by flooding it with new currency.

Did You Know - McDonald's Edition
9. The company came up with the McRib after it sold so many McNuggets that it caused an actual poultry shortage in the US.
10. And it invented the Filet-O-Fish after a franchise owner in a super Catholic town in Ohio realized that a lot of people gave up hamburgers for Lent. McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc initially wanted to replace the hamburger with a Hula Burger — a piece of pineapple covered with cheese — instead. EW.
29. The highest-calorie item on the menu is the 40-piece chicken McNuggets. They weigh in at 1,901 calories in total. Not that you’re gonna eat 40 chicken nuggets all by yourself…are you?

The Savings Are There, But Will You?
McDonald's Reveals How Much You Would Save If You Buy Their Coffee
In further updates on this strategic rollout, McDonald's has revealed exactly how much money they're projected to save customers if they purchase their coffee.
For example, the fast food chain's $1 any size coffee will save customers anywhere from $84-$93 over four months. McDonald's is also lowering the price of their small specialty hot drinks to $2, which will save customers about $109-$140 over a period of four months.
Savings are calculated for someone buying coffee five days a week from January through April. The pricing is compared to that of competitors' regular coffee and popular small specialty hot beverages (lattes, mochas, and hot chocolates).

Did You Know - Big Mac Edition
13 Things You Definitely Don't Know About the Big Mac
6. Pennsylvania is also home to an official Big Mac Museum
- It's true, ladies and gents. Since 2007, curious burger-heads have been able to visit an entire museum dedicated to America's beloved burger in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. The museum (which also serves as a McDonald's restaurant) was opened by Mike Delligatti, Big Mac inventor Jim Delligatti’s son, and houses the world’s Biggest Mac, which is a stunning 14 by 12ft.
8. And the company uses a "specially" calibrated gun to spread said sauce
- It gets weirder, though. Apparently, the special stuff is delivered to each McDonald's franchise in custom "sauce guns" stocked with sealed condiment canisters. With each trigger pull, the machine fires precisely measured dollops of the tangy condiment onto each lucky burger.

Uh, If You Say So
Here’s Why McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets Come In Only 4 Distinct Shapes
As to why there are only these four shapes, McDonald’s says that having four shapes is ‘the perfect equilibrium of dipability and fun.’
‘Three would have been too few,’ they write. ‘Five would’ve been, like, wacky.
‘We also make them similar in size to ensure consistent cooking times for food safety.’(BroBible.com)
