This Car Is A Cultural Icon To Many, Like Me
The Acura Integra: A Legend In Its Own Mind
The Integra.
Everything about the Integra was great. It had panache, its performance was just right and it was affordable. With a luxury cachet to it, it wasn't just a run-of-the-mill Honda Civic. It was something..special. Seeing one on the road today, I just had a great longing for an excellent Acura car like that again.
While the RDX and MDX are doing great business for the Japanese automaker, I just don't foresee people lusting for one of those 20 years from now; however, if you were to ask around today in the right age demographic, people STILL talk about their love for their Integras[.]

a.k.a. We Have No Idea What Kind Of Car To Manufacture
Acura Says It Was Wrong To Focus On Benchmarking Lexus And Infiniti
Acura general manager Jon Ikeda admits that for a while, the brand forgot its roots and there was a disconnect between its advertising and the vehicles it produced.
Speaking at the Marketing 360 event hosted by Automotive News, Ikeda said that Acura’s messaging went down the wrong road as rivals like Lexus and Infiniti emerged as serious rivals.
“We started to chase what was in, what the market was talking about more than staying true to ourselves,” Ikeda said. “When you start benchmarking and looking at everything else, instead of looking introspectively, is where you lose your way.
“We’re a lot more truthful [now] to who we are and what we’re trying to be. I think it’s a growing pain we went through,” Ikeda added.
Under his lead, the automaker adopted its ‘Precision Crafted Performance’ mantra and has put greater emphasis on its design, most notably with the Precision Concept from the Detroit Auto Show back in 2016.
This new advertising direction continues despite the brand’s sales falling since their 2015 peak.

I Found This To Be Very Interesting
You quickly realise that at Spoon, nothing is by accident.
What looks like a nice way to fill an empty workshop wall is actually a demonstration of how the Civic, S2000 and NSX actually share very similar dimensions despite being completely different cars. Careful forethought informed by years of experience.

Nice Response, Acura
Buyers Are Getting Massive Discounts On The Acura NSX
The NSX has been out for a while and despite the long gestation time and hype, it turns out the car is actually pretty damn awesome. It’s not the same as the original NSX, but it’s not supposed to be. What it is is a “bargain” hybrid supercar, especially compared with the likes of the Porsche 918 and McLaren P1.
Not only are some Acura dealers offering $10,000 or more off the MSRP, there is a forum thread where one NJ dealer is advertising an insane $44,800 discount on a brand new 2017 NSX.
Update: Here’s what the folks at Acura had to say about this:

Update: Here’s what the folks at Acura had to say about this:
The NSX is a made-to-order vehicle, but in some cases, dealers have ordered inventory units, especially early in production, to showcase front-and-center in their dealerships. Most new buyers are special ordering NSXs to their unique, individual taste, opting to wait for a custom build rather than purchase a unit from inventory. In addition, many of these customers are visiting the Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio to witness and participate in the build of their custom car.
In certain cases, we’ve provided lease and financing assistance to our dealers to help them find homes for inventory units. Ultimately, we want NSXs on the road, as there’s no better way to build awareness for the car or the brand. We remain incredibly happy with how the NSX has been received by our customers.(Jalopnik.com)

A Brief History Of A 90's Road Icon
Honda NSX: The Full Story
(CarThrottle.com)
The Honda NSX. Nobody expected it. Nobody expected a
supercar, or even a normal car to come out of Japan to tackle the best
the Europeans were offering. Marques from Ferrari, Lamborghini,
Maserati, Porsche, and many more. No one really dared to take the
challenge that time, and the current models offered by rivals Toyota,
Nissan and Mazda were nothing to the Europeans at that time.(Sorry JDM
fans).
Honda had nothing at that time, so they took the opportunity to build the first Japanese supercar to tackle the best of Ferrari. They had high hopes for this project. What started out as an experiment turned out to be a Japanese legend. Even the McLaren F1, the previous record holder of the world’s fastest car’s design was inspired by the NSX.
Timeless, elegant design by legendary design studio Pininfarina, Honda’s advanced engine technology, a lightweight body, and even co-developed by Formula 1 legend Aryton Senna, it was a recipe for perfection. One that would re-define and revolutionize the face of Japanese cars, one that would force the Europeans to step up their game, and one that made the undisputed king of sports car at that time, Ferrari, tremble to their knees.
This blog embodies the history of this legendary Japanese supercar, its variants, its racing history and even its rebirth. Two decades of iconic Japanese history compressed into one blog.

These Are Worth The Price Of Admission
Five iconic 1990s cars that you can probably afford to buy now
Porsche 911 (993) Carrera
Porsche’s 993 generation 911 Carrera tops our list. It’s practically the ultimate ‘90s dream car of all. There is one in Beverly Hills that sells for only $50,000. This Carrera was a ’95 model that travelled for at least 76,000 miles.
This coupe is packed with 270 hp 3.6L engine and is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 993 convertibles could come cheaper while a GT2 version Carrera could be priced at $1M.
Toyota Supra
Toyota Supra is also one of the epic nineties cars that we love to this day. A brand new Supra Turbo costs more than $40,000 in 1990. Then, in 1993 until 2002, the Supra came out with its 4th generation model, which comes with a 320 hp twin turbo 2JZ engine. The prices ranged from $100,000-$120,000 back then.
Acura NSX
Honda also makes it to the list with the Acura NSX. How can we forget one of the best ‘90s cars? The NSX was the only car that intimidated Ferrari when it first came out.
As for the price, the NSX costs more than $60,000 in the nineties. But now, you can have one for as low as $30,000. Still a substantial resale value after all these years.

This Isn't A Bad Idea
Why Acura should build a hybrid Integra successor using NSX tech
If Honda and Acura could commit to the idea of a thoroughly enjoyable premium sports car that doesn't break the bank, Acura could transform into something more than a purveyor of expensive Hondas. Acura's messaging that it's a high-tech, sporty brand would finally mesh better with its product line up. The only question is whether Acura is bold enough to try it.
