I Do Some Of These Things From Time To Time

15 things you should be doing after work instead of watching TV if you want to be happier

1. Read

3. Call a friend
  • Catch up with someone you haven't talked to in a while — you never know what the conversation can lead to.
4. Or meet up in person
  • Rather than going home right after work, meet up with someone and grab dinner or drinks. Just make sure to put your phone away and give them your full attention.
7. Meditate
  • This doesn't need to take up all your free time. Set aside 10-30 minutes right when you get home or right before bed to calm your mind. Here's how to do it if you're new to the practice.
15. Make a list
  • It can be about anything — maybe you need to lay out your groceries for the week, or want to compile your favorite companies to work for, or have been meaning to jot down your New Year's resolutions. Take the time to write them down, then come up with a plan for how to execute on them. An easy way to motivate yourself to follow through.

This Is Going To Have 1 Lucky (& Wealthy) New Owner Soon

Final GT40 Mk. IV, all-original Shelby 427 Cobra going to auction

They'll be auctioned by Gooding & Company at the Amelia Island auction

It's the last of 12 GT40 chassis built by Ford for 1967, the only year Mk. IV GT40s raced because of rule changes for 1968. And when it was built, it was really just a chassis built as a spare for the cars Ford took to Le Mans. The chassis made its way to private owners in the intervening years, one of whom collaborated with a former owner to finish it into a complete car. It has the correct dry-sump 427 V8 making about 525 horsepower and a correct 4-speed manual transmission. The project was finished in 1987. Of interest to potential buyers, the car is now eligible for participation in FIA-sanctioned vintage motorsports events.

This Is A Man's Bento Box

This Cow-Shaped Bento Box Has 10 Pounds of Premium Wagyu Beef

And it costs nearly $3,000

Japanese bento boxes typically contain an assortment of relatively light, healthy items like fish, vegetables, soup, and salads, along with small portions of rice, meat, or tempura. But a new lunch delivery service called Gochikuru is taking the set meal in the completely opposite direction with the release of a two-foot-wide cow-shaped box full of 10 pounds of wagyu beef from Tottori Prefecture, which is widely considered to be some of the most delectable meat in the world.

The slices of cooked sirloin, prime rib, brisket, and tongue, are arranged over Kinu Musume rice, and the meal is garnished with dipping sauces, lime wedges, and wasabi. This special delivery item will set you back around $2,800 after sales tax. That’s truly a lot of money for a bento box, but if you were to split this order with nine friends, you could each feast on a pound of meat for around $280 — still expensive, but that price is at least in the realm of what you might spend on a splashy dinner at a steakhouse.

A Historically (Bad) Sales YEar

Chevrolet Sold One (1) New Car In The United Kingdom Last Month

It has come to our attention that Chevrolet is off to a booming start this year in the United Kingdom, where it reportedly sold a total of one—yes, one—car last month. Notably, that’s one (1) more than its U.K. sales a year prior. Not bad!

Chevrolet’s long been a nonentity in the U.K. for General Motors, but the Jalopnik staff had a brief pause when one of us stumbled onto this story from Top Gear’s website. Car sales were down in January, the story says, adding:
Chevrolet sold… one. One car. Awww.
