NASKART, a 110,000 square-foot karting center in eastern Connecticut, gives enthusiasts a full half-mile of track to play with.
Karting has been a pastime
where all sorts of people—driving enthusiasts or not—could have fun
with friends or family in a controlled, on-track environment. But indoor
facilities can sometimes be tight and short, limiting the seat-time
enjoyment. Not NASKART, though, because it's built a full half-mile indoor circuit just for go-karts.
The
110,00 square-foot facility, located in southeastern Connecticut, is
claiming to be the largest institution of its kind, according to general
manager Cody Browning.
"It's going to be the largest indoor multilevel track in the world," he said.
The
racing will feature electrically powered karts that can reach speeds of
up to 45 mph, with two tracks that combine to make the 0.5-mile full
circuit.
Since NASKART
also serves alcohol at its location, it will breathalyze every driver
pre-race to make sure there's no drunken incidents. Because that would
be bad.
